Soulforce believes that many of us take the Bible way too seriously and do not take God seriously enough.
Join us for a session of Soulforce Vacation Bible School this summer, where we will take a seriously playful look together at just a few of the wild and magical creatures in God’s Good Queer Creation.
Between so many scriptural passages and the truth of Creation’s non-normativity, we have an abundance of examples of how the “straight and narrow” isn’t nearly as straight and narrow as we have been led to believe. We invite you to know and honor the precious sacred truths of each of our authentic beings through readings, art, song, discussion, and Bible study. Come as you are: in worship, or in refusal to succumb to the wickedness in the suppression of these truths. The wild and wonderful creativity of our Creator will help us all discover some truths about what is possible for all of our experiences of sex, gender, and sexuality as we hone in on the gifts of LGBTQI+ identities and experiences.

Rev. Alba Onofrio is a Queer Evangelical Femme who lives and loves in la Lucha with QTPOC folks as a Spiritual Healer and Bruja Troublemaker to combat spiritual terrorism, reclaim the Divine, and eradicate shame and fear wherever they are found. They hold a Masters of Divinity degree from Vanderbilt Divinity School, where their studies focused on the theologies of sex, embodiment of the Divine in the Queer Colonized body, and sexual ethics based in Queer desire. As the Co-Executive Director and Spiritual Strategist for Soulforce, Reverend Sex continues to sabotage Christian Supremacy for Queer Liberation all over the place, but most fondly in the US South and in solidarity with the Global South.
