Peter Rollins, writer, public speaker, lecturer and co-ordinator of the experimental collective Ikon (www.ikon.org.uk) talks about the need to provide a space in life where we lay aside our religious and political positions in order to encounter each other beyond the colour of our eyes and ideologies.

I guess some people might see this as 'abstract', but it is rather quite concrete: in fact, it is truly incarnational. It does not subscribe to some ideal fantasy of righteousness but acknowledges that we live in a fractured world.

But the good new is this: in the middle of this world we can experience the sacred by the practice of intentional suspension of these fractures.

Excellent reflection, Peter.
