Lent and Loss

Life is about Loss. That's the overall blessing of the season of Lent for me, that we as Christians get to celebrate Loss.

Why in the world would we want to do this? Well, let me tell you a story....

When I was 26, I was diagnosed with Clinical Depression. Four years ago, at 39, I was then diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder. I've spent my adult life struggling with these illnesses. Routine bouts of burning rage, and debilitating sadness; chronic migraines, and tempting… Continue

Being new to this site, a couple of words about me, the daughter of a liberal Presbyterian minister, I went to law school to change the world or at least make it work for the people I served. Now, I run a large fAith based community center that had developed a cradle to career opportunity "highway". The Martha O'Bryan Center is located in a the largest concentration of the poorest people in Nashville TN, but like all public housing, it is simply a community of families trying to raise families,… Continue

A Vanishing God

Jesus often comes to us in unexpected ways and unexpected means.

Think about how He came to Earth. For centuries, Israel had waited for a political Messiah. They expected Him to lead a rebellion and free Israel from Roman oppression. But how did the Messiah make His entrance? He came in a way that made it easy for His own people to reject Him. He came as a frail baby, born in a feeding room for animals. There He was. The promised Messiah who was expected to overthrow the…

Trying something a little different in Uruguay...

People have always called Uruguay a "graveyard for missions."  I think it is mostly a graveyard for paradigms.  Too many missionaries and pastors needing to get sprung loose from the matrix when we are already too old.

We are trying something a little different.  Not tooting our own horn here, just showing up to give somebody a curious piece of news to show at the dinner table.

We are buying a house in the country 40 minutes outside the city and hosting…

"All Maxed Out", Minister Robb CAGER, III

                             “All Maxed Out”,
                                               Ephesians 6:10-17
There are times in your spiritual walk, when you realize that all of your earthly advantages have been exhausted, and your usual ways of attaining a sense of peace, security, and spiritual well-being, no longer provides you with the inner peace unto which you’ve become accustomed. GOD, in all of his omniscience, regularly allows his people to experience…

"You say it, you'll see it", (It'll come back around), Evangelist/Minister Robb J.K. CAGER, III

“You say it, you’ll see it” (It’ll come back around)
                                                                        James 3:2-10
Throughout the course of our lives, the words that we’ve spoken, have made more of an impact on the direction, and quality if our lives than we could have ever imagined. We’ve all spoken innumerable words into the atmosphere, that if we’d have thought clearer about, or been more knowledgeable of their impact, we would’ve…
