TransFORM Network (http://www.transformnetwork.org) and The Parish Collective (http://www.parishcollective.org) are joining forces to host a West Coast regional gathering on missional community formation, Friday-Saturday, April 29-30, 2011, at Mars Hill Graduate School in Seattle, Washington. Launched in Fall 2009, TransFORM held its first regional gathering earlier this year in Washington, D.C., which…See More

"No, I have a hard time understanding it, too . . . and I come from an Evangelical Protestant background! Try stuffchristianslike.net. It's a satire of the Evangelical culture (written by an Evangelical)."

Alas, I do not grok...

Over the last couple of years, I have realized something: I simply do not understand Evangelical Protestantism. Oh, I know the history of Evangelicalism, especially in the United States, but I don't really understand the culture, or even the ethos. They just seem to elude me, and I know that this causes me to have a "disconnect" when interacting with Christians from evangelical churches and backgrounds. I wonder about the underlying concerns, ideas, and concepts that drive evangelical folks.…See More

Gratitude

I want to thank Andrew Wilkes from the bottom of my heart for having the courage to write this open letter about LGBT folks in evangelical churches on the Sojourners blog, God's Politics. To have a heterosexual ally address this issue is a wonderful thing, because this privilege allows him to be heard where we queer Christians would not be (and aren't, if you…See More

LGBT Article on Sojourners

A very interesting confrontation of "the LGBT question" is going on in the comments of this wonderful letter written by a straight African-American Evangelical ally. Of course, there's a lot of the usual arguments being trotted out, but the fact that it was not only written, BUT PUBLISHED on Sojourners, really pleases me greatly as a queer Christian. Love, RachaelSee More

There's courage involved if you want

to become truth. There is a broken-

those qualities of bravery and sharp

compassion in this group? What's the

use of old and frozen thought? I want

a howling hurt. This is not a treasury

where gold is stored; this is for copper.
