Zoe - Livable Church
"...one of the pacific northwest's most holistically, missionally focused churches: zoe - livable church."
From the blog of Author and Professor Dwight Freisen
"...others have developed similar spaces for proximity. In the heart of Tacoma, Washington ... Zoe has created a brilliant third place for the many artists, musicians, and bohemians moving down river to escape the skyrocketing prices in nearby Seattle."
From the book "Exiles" by Michael Frost
“We need to have a church, without walls, but I’ve never seen anyone do it until recently. I’ve fallen in love with a little community of faith in Downtown Tacoma, WA. ...There is no agenda other than to love people and create a livable community within their neighborhood that leads to shared experiences with those who live there."
Josh Olson founder of Tapestry Community Development in Seattle, Washington
"Zoe has taken drastic measures to ... wean members off the consumptive attendance at a "service" and to get them all involved in local expressions of mission, and the missional reach has been significantly increased through incarnational practices."
From Alan Hirsch's Book "The Forgotten Ways"
"...new expressions of church are discovering that time and space matter. They are inviting members to relocate in one neighborhood where they have greater proximity in order to have both more community and more impact on the lives of others. Recently Christine and I met with Zoe Livable Church in Tacoma, Washington. Community leaders invited this emerging congregation to move into a twent-square-block area in downtown Tacoma. ...they are not only more involved in each other's lives, but they are finding more time to reach out to the homeless and vulnerable in their community."
From Tom Sine's book "The New Conspirators"

I'm always interested to know more community stuff that is going on in Seattle. Blessing abound I've found 3 people to live with in the Central District and we have been living in community sense september! I love it.
I'm in graduate school writing my thesis on "intentional communities" so i very much would be interested to speak with like minded people in Seattle. If you have any contact I would love to hear who they are and meet up! thanx!
My personal, primary focus is on crafting / curating spiritially formational alt. worship services, liturgies, rituals and symbols that fuel and sustain missional desire... here is a link to this weeks celebrating Reign of Christ the King, and links to photos of prior years celebration of this liturgy. See the Reign folder. Just in case you have some Edmonton friends in need of a pick-me-up :) .
