TransFORM - a missional community formation network

It is my humble opinion [one that is not authoritative any longer] that we need to get to work on organizing cohorts to gather in and connect the Presby cats that want to meet face to face and live into the P'mergent hopes and dreams.

What if we got the CG to host conversations once a month [at firs] in the local hoods to foster some IRL time and pollinate them ideas to implement in the congregations?

What do y'all think?

It's a bit remote down here but i like the idea...with God all things are possible...and what is possible can be accomplished!
I like the regional p-mergent cohort idea. We have 2 emerging church cohorts that meet monthly: dc and n. virginia. There are a couple Presbyterians present but it's a good mix of traditions. I would see a Presbyterian-specific group as one that offers support to those in our tradition who are yearning, rather than one trying to convert people to our tradition.

We have quite a few who self-identify as "emergent" in our Presbytery who have never been to a cohort gathering.
I would be happy to work on something for 2010. Carol? Brian?

And Ryan, you are nothing if not authoritative. Maybe now more than ever.
I had a list of CG members...I think setting something up for 2010 would be possible. We need a few folks to host to cohorts. Let's connect with those folks we have in the CG and see what comes of it. I do think the time is right to get this thing going.
good call. of course, if you check the stats on my region, it's going to be a hard sell. but something i am starting to work on with a little market research of the area. we are doing some activities in my home church that might make it a little easier to sell. change in these here parts is like pouring molasses in january - outside, after it has been frozen solid.
