I see that this discussion thread is more than a year old, but since I'm new to the group, let me ask -- so how do we create these communities?

I'm still working on forming these conversation groups & am open to any ideas.

Ryan,

 

One of the issues is getting critical mass of folks on the ground to have conversation.  Will be interesting to see what Steve K. is able to do with the Disciples.  We Disciples in Michigan are pretty spread out!  But I'm game for the conversation.

 

My only concern is that this is just one more program that we participate in that distracts from the movement forward!

Bob,

I have been working since October of 2008 to connect, build and equip Disciples to have these conversations with each other. This is how [D]mergent came about.

I hope that Steve can assist the Disciples in these things. I have seen some mass arise and fall. I have only so much time and energy to commit to this as I work FT like many others in ministry. I hope 2011 is the year the mass becomes critical and a movement really happens.

I am hopeful that all of our involvment makes a differnece.

p.s. Are you speaking of TransFORM being a distraction?

Well, not necessarily.  But sometimes there are programs that come down the pike that make big promises, but in reality they take us backward rather than forwards.  In other words, is this simply more of the same -- like the educational event at the Ft. Worth GA, that came and went. 

 

I say this with deep respect for Steve!

 

I guess it all depends on where you're at in the journey!
