Since I come from a church of Christ background and believe in the start of what was the foundation of the Restoration Movement. With that I think anyone tied to the Restoration Movement could not help but be missional. Unless I completely misunderstand its foundation. I have felt, since becoming a part of the conversation 10 years ago, that at its most basic start it goes hand in hand of what missional life and its gathering should look.
In its purest form the Restoration Movement was to bring back the gathering and taking a way the political system of the "institutional" church. I think the nature of this brings out what it is to be emgergent/diverging/missional. I think to get back to its purest form there will be a larger reflection of a gathering of believers.
Again, since I do come from the churches of Christ background of the Restoration Movement I may see this a bit differently than those on the Christian Church/ Disciples of Christ. I feel my journey has been about trying to find a gathering that bridged what I see in the emergence conversation and what I still love about the rebels of the Restoration Movement.
