What is "missional"?
To some extent, this question might be beating a dead horse, but my sense is that "missional" means wildly different things to different people. What does it mean to you?
I'll go first, and suggest that this cartoon (from ASBO Jesus via Jonny Baker) does a pretty good job, for me, of summarizing the concept:

I like this missional bullet list I found on the Project Shading blog:
- Being missional means that the church sees itself as being missionaries, rather than having a missions department, and that we see ourselves as missionaries right where we live
- Being missional means that we see ourselves as representatives of Jesus “sent” into our communities, and that the church aligns everything it does with the missio dei (mission of God)
- Being missional means we see the church not as a place we go only on Sundays, but as something we are throughout the week
- Being missional means that we understand we don’t “bring Jesus” to people but that we realize Jesus is active in culture and we join him in what he is doing
- Being missional means we are very much in the world and engaged in culture but are not conforming to the world
- Being missional means we serve our communities, and that we build relationships with the people in them, rather than seeing them as evangelistic targets
- Being missional means being all the more dependent on Jesus and the Spirit through prayer, the Scriptures, and each other in community

Great Pic to summarize just that!
However ..... Jesus did some amazing things inside the buildings as well!
The trick is to do what He had done in there. And then He had been such a loving Fellow, even whilst being in there.

People are interested in things that they can relate to. We may be the only Bible that some people ever read. We can't expect people to be interested in going to church unless we are church to them. We are the church and by our walking the talk, more will be interested in getting some of that Love for themselves. Take it to the streets!

I like you r cartoon. Missional church has a kind of a reduntant ring to me. To me the church is about mission so saying missional church is kind of like saying missional mission. What I like about your cartoon is that it emphasizes that the great commission is about going out. "Go out into the world, proclaiming the Good New." I would add St. Francis of Assisi's phrase, "If necessary use words." Missional to me means living in such a way that others see Christ in me and that I see Christ in them as well."
