TransFORM - a missional community formation network

I'm at sea. Which is not necessarily bad. In fact being in a transitional space is a great opportunity.

2 points:

1 - I felt with Emergent Village (and especially its weblog), a certain home for a few years. But now the party seems to have moved. If it has indeed done so, and has come here, if this is the new home for that (virtual) community, I'd love to have some sort of (virtual, I guess) rite of passage, if this is at all possible.

2 - What is the relationship between this platform (missionaly dedicated) and a more general one like Facebook. Are we in danger of ghettoising ourselves by being this specific?

Hi Nic!

Oh I really hope the party hasn't moved from EV... it's just regrouping. I'm on the communications team for EV and I *promise* that we're looking at ways to use the various communications tools at EVs disposal to more accurately reflect the life that's out there.

I can't speak for Steve, but I think the focus of this group is a little more specific, and meant to be a place for people who specifically wish to talk about what it takes to form and sustain missional communities. That being said, the Ning certainly seems to have gone viral, and life will spring up where it springs up, whatever our plans may be. I say roll with it. If this is where things are hopping, then let 'em hop. Folks will find us... they already have!

Peace of Christ,
Amy
Thanks Amy. I am "rolling" as I type. Kind of like a dolphin in the waves. Its fun in fact.

Your words are helpful; and I think what makes T4M attractive right now is the fact that community has for us here in Cape Town / South Africa more of an allure than just online discussion, and this communal ethos - both in general online and specific localised forms - pervades.

So let me ask: does T4M discussion more or less equate to EV weblog? As you may know I *loved* contributing to the EV blog. Is a Ning discussion the new incarnation that blog?
