Hello Family!! Brandon here.
So if you've been hanging out here and/or on Twitter for the past 6 months or so, I'm sure you've heard the buzz about the elusive Outlaw Preachers (re)Union.
Well, we're extremely excited to announce that plans are moving forward! Mama Connie has been able to secure for us a killer retreat center in Memphis that sits on 8 wooded acres!
RSVPing to this event is NOT a 100% commitment to come. No money is being collected at this point. We do, however need to establish a general idea of how many people are seriously planning to attend.
So here's the skinny:
The date for this shindig is December 3 - December 6.
The main speakers, so far are:
Brian McLaren - author, speaker, pastor, and networker among
innovative Christian leaders, thinkers, and activists.
Adele Sakler - of Queermergent
Jay Bakker - of Revolution NYC
Jeremy Ritch - of Hold Fast Ministries
Phil Shepherd - of The Eucatastrophe
There will be many breakout sessions throughout the weekend. If you have an interest in speaking at one of these sessions, send one of the administrators a message and we'll get back with you.
The cost is coming in at about $130/person. This includes lodging, 3 breakfasts, and 2 lunches. It also includes drinks and coffee during the WHOLE (re)union. We have made arrangements to have food catered on Friday night and then reservations at a restaurant in Memphis on Saturday.
Here's the breakdown in lodging options:
1) Dorm style lodging on site
including 3 breakfasts/2 lunches/ drinks and coffee
$125
2) Camping or Trailer $30
Food per person $35
3) Artisan Hotel ($80 per room) (3.5 miles from retreat center)
$240
Food per person $35
4) Get your own lodging (Staying with friends)
Food per person $35
Well, that's the story. Lots more to come, but we need that head count. Also, let us know with your yes/no response which lodging option you intend to choose.
Giddy Up!!
